Brand new R10 won’t keep paired up

Brand new out of the box yesterday after having to wait 4 months for it to be delivered and this thing will not read a single shot and will not stay paired up. Rang Garmin support and had to go through all the things I had already tried, surprise surprise it didn’t work the 20th time just like the first time I tried. Now Garmin has sent me an email to send the unit back. Are you kidding me? How long before the replacement comes and why should I have to pay shipping to return it. I have been a massive Garmin fan in the past but the experience with this unit is turning me off.

surely there has to be an easy solution to this problem. Fix it up!!!!!!!!
