I currently use the R10 in an indoor setting (garage) which is well lit using led lighting. We have been using the device for a couple months now and through multiple adjustments it still provides very short (and inconsistent) swing data. I bought this as a training tool expecting it not to be completely reflective of golf course performance or to necessarily rival much more expensive units. But to date the performance of the device has been very discouraging. If the basics aren’t trustworthy the additional metrics become less so as well. For example, I also use the Garmin S60 watch to track on-course activity and the numbers recorded on that device are always 20+ yards longer than the R10’s recording. I am beginning to lose confidence in Garmin’s ability to improve the R10 through updates. I check for and install updates regularly. It seems that I am not alone with this complaint about the R10. I really want the unit to work as advertised (and now suspiciously positively reviewed online), but a return seems imminent. Can someone with Garmin please provide an update as to what is being done to address these concerns? Most information that I have read revolves around the software updates and are several months old.
Sincerely,
Big Garmin Fan
