Indoor Setup is working great in 3.90

My setup in basement is working fantastic, all shots are at my normal distances compared to my Garmin S20 on course distances.  Even the deviation is correct with my 6i, 5i that I need to work on over the winter.  Impact screen is 9'wx6'7h", Ceiling height is 7'5" to top of mat.  Screen is 8' to front and R10 is 8' behind, I have not tried 7 feet to see if any distance changes.  I have tried a few 3w and they are at my distance too of 240y but I feel ceiling height impedes my follow-through so have not hit too many.

  • What about club path and club face?  Are those accurate indoors as well?  Is the shot shape what you expect or are you finding some shots going right when they should be straight or draws?  The sidespin issue indoors was one thing I am hoping is addressed for inside use so the shapes are accurate and reliable.

  • Nice!! I see the basement has a finished ceiling. I am wondering if that makes a difference...?

  • I think that full carpeting is really beneficial for the numbers being where they should be. I've gone to extra lengths to cover up concrete flooring in the radar path in my garage setup and it helped quite a bit FWIW...

  • Club path, face and shot shape are similar to my normal shots(1), A bad shot for me is usually a push or pull depending on my club face angle and rarely draw or fade.  I have a really hard time fading/slicing the ball(2) but managed to produce on R10.  I feel I can easily hit a draw or hook intentionally but did find it hard to produce that shot shape (3). Could be that I am finding it hard to hit it inside to out thinking i am going to hit into the wall.  I am going to go to a trackman simulator next week and will record my stats and report here to compare to R10.  Overall I am very impressed by the results. I can always tell when I hit a push or pull at impact and the R10 always picks it up correctly.  I do see some weird shots and when I look at the stats I see it missed a bunch of data placing a dash (-) instead of a value.  Or unless that is how it measures exactly zero but I think not.

  • My ceiling is quite low, maybe that is beneficial. I have not messed around with the placement of the R10, height or even distance.  I have had it at 8' and tonight 7' and didn't notice a difference.  I do make sure to run a laser behind it at setup to make sure I am hitting ball along that line.  It is not even at the same height as the mat, it is not sitting on a piece of mat which would raise it up at least an inch. I will do that next and see if my distances or launch angle changes.

  • Ok thanks for the feedback.  I am still waiting for thr R10 to become available again for purchase.  I have a garage setup with 13 foot ceilings and with 18 feet from where the unit will sit to the impact screen so I am hopiing that will suffice.

  • I have started hitting Driver and 3W and the distances are exactly the same as what I hit on the course.  I can even swing really fast which I typically don't and get to 300y.  The only thing is even in update 3.9, it still has a hard time picking up 20-30y chip shots.  Sometimes it works perfectly and others times not, strange because I am not changing my swing.

  • Your ceiling is only 7.5 feet, hmm I might need to look into that. My ceilings are low too
