Question about "At Course" Functions

I'm not sure I understand the purpose/function of the "At Course" function. I assume it's not working like a GPS, and I can't imagine setting it up in a bunker to track my sand wedge shot. However, it looks like the live stat-tracking is dependent on using the R10 on the course.

How is this intended to work? Manual doesn't say much.

The Approach R10 does not support any at course functions or green contour information in use with features...as the R10 round simulation features do not support putting.

The "At Course" function of the app is for when you are playing a real round and want to use the app for GPS and score tracking. It is not an R10 function.

Just to clarify (sorry it won't actually seem to let me log location stuff without going to a course), can I enter club info on each stroke and have it do a strokes gained analysis? I called support on this and they didn't have any information.

I use the app in conjunction with my Garmin watch and the golf app on the watch. It does allow you to select which club you used for each shot (I usually do it after the fact on my PC).

Hi,

On the same topic from Godspell. This function would be self update within the function itself right or updates on stats would also be through a golf watch.

Still having this issue. I'm getting the heat map for the greens but it isn't showing me any information from the tee to green as far as distances or anything. It also shows that I am not connected to my R10 (which I obviously don't want to be at course). Anyone else have this issue?

Please refer to the Garmin Support page Understanding Green Contours and Compatible Garmin Golf Products for more info on how the green contours feature is design to work, and the devices that are compatible with the Approach R10.

The Approach R10 is not designed to be used as a device for distances during an actual round of golf on a course while playing.

The "At course" section displayed in the scorecards menu is for scorecards recorded through a Garmin Golf device that supports GPS and use during actual rounds of golf. Please refer to the Garmin Support page Difference Between Sim Data and At Course Rounds

Home Tee hero is the feature available in the Garmin Golf app for the Approach R10 for simulating a round of golf and is golf sim, not at course feature.
