Garmin r10 bluetooth

Hi guys

Got my R10 yesterday and connected it to my android phone via garmin golf on the first attempt. Seamless

Tried connecting it to my ipad so I can use E6 and I can't for the life of me get it to work

I've unpaired it from my android, removed it from the Bluetooth device list and also from garmin golf, put the R10 into pairing mode (solid blue light) but the ipad can't find it when I go to "add device" in the garmin golf app

It now won't connect to my android either so it's useless

All software on all devices is fully up to date, I've restarted all devices etc but it simply won't pair with either the android or the ipad

Any ideas?

Many thanks

  • Same exact thing happened to me when I got mine earlier this week, except my phone Is an iPhone 11. Eventuality I got it to work after doing what you’ve described over and over for about 45 minutes. I’m not 100% sure what I did to make it work as I tried so many different combinations of things, but one thing I remember specifically doing differently was in the “add a device screen” in the app on my iPad. Instead of selecting the picture of the R10 that’s shown with about 9 other devices (shortcuts I guess), I went the long way and selected  “device not listed” or whatever it says. I then selected “approach” then “R10” and I seem to remember it working after that. I say I’m not sure if this was the fix for me because I wanted to test if this was the actual fix and deleted it from my iPad to try to do it again and I still had issues. Again, it eventually worked, but I was so aggravated that I don’t remember what exactly made it work and just left it alone after the second time I got it paired. So frustrating. It should be like switching between devices with your Bluetooth earbuds, but Garmin has decided that golf isn’t hard enough. They wanna make this part hard too. SMFH. Good luck, bud!  Hope this works for you.

  • I had the same issue trying to pair with an iPhone.  Don’t recall exactly what I did but it eventually paired.  I seem to recall seeing the green status light momentarily before it went solid blue for pairing… but if you turn the unit on then hold the button it just shuts off… so that wasn’t it.  Anyway, it eventually paired with the iPhone and is still paired with my iPad and Android phone.

  • Thanks for this. So it's worked with my android. Turned the R10 on and then held the power button until I got a solid blue light and then my android found it immediately

Don't have my ipad with me right now but will try that tomorrow and will report back

    Thanks again

  • So this totally worked. Paired with the ipad seamlessly. In summary - if you go to pairing mode by holding the power button when the unit is off then for some reason the phone/pad can't find the R10. If you turn the unit on, and then enter pairing mode by holding the power button until you get solid blue led you will then be able to pair the R10. Both devices now connected and working flawlessly

  • Thank god I found this.  I was freaking out, I got a floor model and it did this. But turning it on and then holding the button got it to show right up.  Thank you so much for figuring it out!

  • Same issue - same fix. Android was easy .Really struggled with iPhone and iPad. Got it sorted but stumbled on to getting it to work

  • This worked. Turn it on.. I repeat, turn it on first. THEN hold the power button until it is solid blue indicating pairing mode. Worked immediately after an hour of torture.   ... if it's off and you put it straight into pairing mode it doesn't seem to work.
