Why not able to update R10 via App?

Any reason why we have to connect the R10 to a PC to update the firmware? Why can't this be done from the app? The Garmin watches (and most smart watches) update this way. For those that don't have PC's, how will updates be applied? Clearly the technology is there to update firmware via Bluetooth transfer.

I updated from the app. Find the R10 under the “Garmin Devices” menu item (I had a bunch of other Garmin watches in the list… I guess they all support the golf app).. On the first day there was a notification to update in red directly under the device… can’t remember if I had the press the “Sync Nowl” icon.

Well on mine from the Golf app there is no way to update it from the app and the manual says you have to update it through Garmin Express.

The update over bluetooth took about 20min... had to plug the phone into a battery pack. In the end the R10 was updated.
