Wouldn't it be possible to add putting?

I would like to request putting tracking! This would be great for E6.  I know it would be a lot more to add the feature to Garmins Home tee hero. If you would add to HTH that would be great too.

You have the club speed and path and ball.  You should be able to calculate the ball distance based on that data.  If the player follows thru you should even have ball path until screen or outdoors unlimited view of the ball.

  • Adding putting functionality would make this the best LM bang for the buck in the industry.  Please pressure the developers to move this up the ToDo list.

    Best, Randy

  • Yes!! Putting would be great.

  • I just purchased a Garmin R10 and while it would be nice to have putting, would rather see the development team focused on improving the distance accuracy to the Garmin R10.  I know my yardages and using the Garmin app my distances are 20 to 30 yards short on most clubs, even when I set the altitude to 7000 feet.  I can adjust awesome golf to map to my distances, but for whatever reason the Garmin app still reads short.

Please focus on that issue first.

    Thanks Garmin!

  • Hi any updates on possibility of implementing putting to r10?

  • Thanks to everyone who requested this feature. After consideration, our development team has no plans to add putting to the R10. This is due to the overall design, which prevents it from being able to track putts.

    Thanks again for everyone's feedback!

  • Yes, please add putting

  • Keith …see the post above yours …Garmin Rob has already explained that putting will not be implemented for the R10 sorry!

Does anybody remember the Rapsodo device? Or even the Arcos device that clipped on a golf club. Heck even the Garmin CT 10 device. Maybe there’s a possible adaptation to put in a gyroscope? The Blast device tracks putters too.  It would be great if a software developer like GS pro could allow tandem sensors to gain access to feeding information in the game. In that way an API could be written to use a clip on device similar to the Rapsodo or these others and we could have putting.

Ha ha ha… Garmin Rob …maybe this is an opportunity for Garmin to make another small device that could work in tandem with the R10 and also sell as a standalone device to practice putting indoors.

I’m sure Garmin has a much larger think tank than what’s in my brain and their actuaries could do the math to see if it would be worth while?
