positioning R10

Hi,

3 question on leveling and positioning the r10 :

1. If you use a mat, it says that the unit should not be below your mat. Is that including the tripod? Or the unit itself? It confuses me, because i don't think that there is a mat that is thicker then the height of the tripod. So, it seems an unnecessary statement if it is about the unit itself.

2. It seems to come very precise how you level out the unit. But, when you use it outside and you have to put the unit on grass, then it is probably not leveled out exactly. Is that ok? How does that influence your data?

3. The minimum distance to the net suppose to be 2.4 meter. That is quit a lot. If you for example play with a sand wedge, the net need to be really high. And is more even better? How much better?

Thanks

  • Wow thats an amazing setup you have and its still inaccurate. For me anything above 8 Iron is way off. Previously owning R10 I used a public sim weekly for 3 months that uses UNEEKOR EYE XO on TGC 2019 setup.

My shots are 20+ yards short on R10 in HTH. Though E6 Connect with elevation changed to 10,000 seems fairly accurate.

My next step is to take my R10 to the golf sim and run both at the same time. Just would like a sim in my house and not have to pay $20Hr plus driving... Really frustrating as I prefer to play the local courses around me.

  • I actually was searching for the very same question you posed, i.e. should the bottom of the tripod or the bottom of the device be on the same level as the ball? In  response to your observation about unsnapping the camera from the tripod to make it level, I wanted to share that there are numerous leveling devices specifically made for the R 10 that will allow you to level the R10 while keeping it properly secured to the tripod. You can find them to be pretty inexpensive. Prices vary depending on what you purchase, i.e. some have built in shields, lasers (for accurate alignment), etc. Thought I'd pass this on in case you weren't aware of it.
