magnet problem , not good enough to hold on trolley

I have lost it twice during round of golf,

Magnet not good enough

Base for it is a waste of time.

I use it since but still magnet not good enough to keep it held on trolley

Are you using it on the loop and metal plate they give you or another magnetic fixed mount?

I found some mounts are designed with the magnets oriented for phones in a circle and don't work. The stripe bird is one of those mounts that doesn't work. It doesn't work well with my magnetic towels either.

I now use a mount with a flat metal plate, and it works fine with that? It's firm with no issues falling off.

I do wish that garmin would make a push cart/trolley mount. The hanging mount isn't a great idea if you want to look at the screen.

I asked for a mount for it

The bracket comes with is useless.

I fitted a flat metal plate to umbrella holder, so that is good.

I find anything designed for the iPhone MagSafe mount is terrible. I use a ram circle magnet but you have to put on the circle metal plate that comes with it, not use the magnet on its own. Anything with built in magnets can be problematic because of the alignment of the magnets where as a metal plate on its own works well

Not to sound daft but you are taking the part with the carabiner attached off and using just the G82 correct?

The plate with the Carabiner is magnetic but not nearly as strong as the G82 itself. I've found the G82 magnet to be incredible strong.

Yes, i use g82 on its own on the trolley but even then , it has popped off twice when in use , if trolley hits a bump or accidentialy hit g82, but it is designed to hang from cradle as well if a no go .

Hi,

I tried loads of those magnetic mounts for phones, and they don't work because they have a magnet in themselves which repels part of the G82. Then I cam across the 'Pinned caddey trolley mount', which works perfectly as it is designed for a similar device. Not sure why Garmin never think of these things, a hardcase would have been great as well, never mind!! I have attached a link for this below, quite pricey but worth the money in my opinion.

i agree – it has dropped off a couple of times for me whilst on trolley… needs improvement!
