Stableford scoring bugg, zero putts give zero stableford points

Had a horrible round of golf but managed to sink a chip to save par on the 16th, hence I entered 3 shots for the par and zero putts since my holed shot was from outside the green.

Noticed the scoring was off, I was missing points from the 16th, see screenshot on the left.

Went back to the scoring screen for the 16th to double check my entered score, it was listed as 3 strokes (par) and zero putts, all should be good but the Stableford points was missing.

Tried chaning the putts from zero to one and was instantly awared with three stableford points for my par.

Why is even the number of putts included in the scoring mechanism, its got nothing to do with stableford scoring.

Garmin, could you please look into this as any holed shot from outside the green is not counted as a putt, even if you use the putter.

  • ..forgot the attachement so here it is.
Left: Missing score on the 16th even though I made a Par.
Right: Changed the stats from zero to one putt and suddendly the stableford scoring worked.

  • The prompt for entering putts is not in-relation to the scoring method, as the putts entered are a part of the Stat Tracking feature on the Approach G80.

If you are using Stableford as the scoring method, you would need to enter your stroke total separate from the Stat Tracking section where putts and fairway are displayed on the scorecard entry screen. The total entered in the Strokes section should reflect the stroke total including putts. Entering putts into the "Putts" section of the scorecard will not add into stroke total for your score.

  • Thanks Cody, I tried to replicate this and it seems that I had forgotten to tick the lower right corner to save the entered score.

I went back to check the score during the round but since I made a par and the default listed score is a par I got confused and thought it was the putts that were the trouble since I had entered 0 putts not 2. I had just forgot to save the score so it went back to the default numbers. Sorry about that.

  • Thank you for confirming, and I am glad you were able to figure out what was causing the issue.
