I have been using a Garmin G8 for over 7 years and was very happy with it until the power on button failed. So I upgraded to a Garmin G80, or should I say "downgraded" to a Garmin G80! Here are a few differences that I have noticed during my last few rounds of golf using the G80.
- The G80 appears to not have shot tracking. Why, the G8 did.
- About a third of the time, when I start a new round, an old round shows up and I have to write over the old score, number of putts, and fairway information. Why, the G8 never did.
- Three or four holes a round, when I approach the green with the G80 in my hand, in order to measure the shot distance, the G80 automatically changes to the scoring feature and looses my shot distance. This really upsets me. The G8 never did this.
- The G80 has a plays like distance, but I never know when it is on. The G8 shows the distance and the plays like distance on the same screen. This makes sense! How come the G80 doesn't have this same transparency?
- The G80 screen appears less bright, even when on full brightness, than the G8 screen. Is my G80 defective?
Any help you could provide my as to what I am doing wrong would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Dan Drotar
