G80 Clubspeed detection without ball

Hello!

I am training with Speedgolf training sticks and wondering if the G80 would detect the swing speed (clubhead speed) of these sticks (weight instead of a club face). Of course there is no ballflight to measure in this setup.

That would be a perfect additional use case for me and a good argument to buy a G80.

You will need to make contact with the ball for the device to take a reading.

That is understood.

But this is a query for additional functionality. Is it possible to check with software development if this is implementable without too much work? I agree with Marcuswien that this would be a good feature. I have too low club head speed, and I try to improve it. It would be valuable to me to see how fast I swing without a ball, just during speed practice.

You make a great suggestion but the G80 relies on a ball being hit to register properly based on the core design vs. an update made to the firmware software running on it. Thanks again for your input.

This seems ridiculous, the radar on this device senses a no-contact swing, it does not display the measurement. I had a device from the 90's that did not rely on contact.. other than this issue it's a great device so far..

I agree with these guys it would be a great additional feature. Who wants to pay £400 for a G80 and another £200 for a PRGR. Maybe something you could incorporate in a nee version of the G80 as one must be due soon.
