Integrating FIT_MESG_NUM_RESPIRATION_RATE messages

Hi friends,

I've noticed that the C SDK now includes the FIT_MESG_NUM_RESPIRATION_RATE definition though I'm curious how to work with the respiration data that gets recorded during cycling activities. At the moment the Garmin connect website shows this data though I am not sure how to extract the data when parsing a fit file using the C SDK. Is this a developer field?

Any tips, hints, directions, examples here would be appreciated.

Respiration rate is stored in the Record messages. Since you are using the C SDK, you will need to configure the SDK with the fields that you are interested in. The primary use case of the C SDK is for use by devices to encode files. Since devices have limited memory resources, not every field is included by default. Instead, you need to opt-in to what that your application is using. There is more information on this here: https://github.com/garmin/fit-c-sdk/tree/main#optimizing-the-fit-c-sdk

On lines 701 and 702, change the 0 to a 1 and then run Fitgen.exe to generate the SDK with those fields enabled. There are corresponding fields in the session and lap messages too.

This is unique to the C SDK. The other seven SDKs do not need to be configured in this way, and include all messages and fields.
