Epix Pro II Stopped Processing Workout .fit Files

Since October, I have been unable to successfully update workout .fit files to my Epix Pro II. In the past, I created workout .fit files using the FIT SDK, copied them to the Epix's NewFiles folder from my Windows 10 PC, and the watch processed the .fit files to its Workouts folder. Now, after copying updated .fit files (with minor changes) to the NewFiles folder and disconnecting the watch's USB cable and after restarting, the new workouts do not appear on the watch. The NewFiles folder has been emptied as expected. In the past, after copying .fit files into NewFiles, I observed that some temporary file(s) were created in that folder. That is not happening now.

I have only 16 workout files on the watch. The workouts have a maximum of 36 steps, so I'm well within limits on both. There is plenty of unused storage on the watch. I have also tried this with a small (10-step), uniquely-named workout with the same result.

The only change that I made to the watch around October is that I loaded some .MP3s to listen to via Bluetooth (sounded bad, so I removed them).

Any ideas?

What happens when you put the file directly into the Workouts folder?

Same as putting it in NewFiles. The file disappears after restart with no update.

Could you post such a sample file here? Note: you have to zip it, in order to be able to use the Insert » Video/File/Image function

Well, I tried with your file, and I cannot get it load on my watch either. However, I tried copying a native workout from one device to another one in the same way, and it worked fine. I then compared the fit files, and see there are a lot of differences in the headers.

I do not really follow the FIT SDK forum, so do not know what changed (perhaps someone knowledgeable peeks in and advises), but I suggest that you create a trivial 1 step workout with Garmin Connect, and then try to replicate it with your tools, making sure you keep the headers from the original. Garmin might have added some new mandatory fields.
