Hi Group,

I'm desperate,..

Can anybody help with fixing a broken .FIT file (road cycling activity). I normally would be bothered, but this one is my biggest ever ride at 288km so keen to get the data. File size is 5Mb.

The activity displays perfectly on my watch (a Garmin Fenix 7X) but it won't sync across to Garmin Connect and i can't manually import to Garmin, Training peaks or Strava. It says it doesn't recognise the format or the ile extension is recognised.

Can anyone help and if so tell me how i upload the file for you to look at... and hopefully fix?

I have tried a couple of the online .fit file fixers (including http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/) with no joy, but I'm no IT person and I'm not sure what i am doing.

If anyone can help i would be extremely grateful .

Try theActivity File Repair Tool that is part of the FIT SDK. You will need to install Java, but there is a link to that in the docs.

Yes I think this was the one. I recall it was the 'corrupt time fixer' - but i ALSO clicked on the red "CONNECT WITH STRAVA" button.

Hi Sielogramp, thanks for your offer of help but i managed to find an online tool that fixed the file and directly uploaded to Strava in one action. I then exported the file from Strava, and imported back into Garmin and Training Peaks so I'm all sorted.

Hopefully i won't need to use the forum again, but i f I do i will now be better informed. Thanks for your guidance. Ian

Hi Again,

I'm sorry Only Two, but I can't remember exactly which tool I used. I have looked again this morning to try to find it but without success.

The one I used simply had a small button that was red and said :"Fix file and upload direct to Strava" or something very similar. It wasn't the FIT SDK program nor http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/ nor https://www.fitfilerepairtool.info/ that i can confirm.
