Adding sports to the device.fit for Edge530

Hi,

I have an Edge530, which is limited to cycling sports. Is this a hard limit or is there a work around?

I have tried modifying an activity profile fit to a non-cycling sport and adding it to the Edge530 without success. So thinking maybe adding the sport to the device.fit may be required. I would like to know if additional sports can be unlocked/added through the device.fit file (or by another method) please. If there is a way, please share it.

The sport types are not controlled by any setting files that can be edited.

However, you can do what you are looking for by writing a Connect IQ app. Search the CIQ app store for "any sport" and you will find a few. It looks like the existing ones only support wearables, but there is no reason that it could not be done for Edge devices.

The .fit files seemed to be a possible alternative.
