I am by no means a FIT developer, just interested if it is possible for third parties to feed data to the stock widgets of the Instinct series?
Namely thinking of the following:
1. most complex: InReach widget to connect and control any BT LE enabled phone/satellite phone just as an inReach mini?
2. Weather widget: receive data from a DIY weather station (BT LE can be arranged)
3. Tides widget (surf edition): instead of constant dependency on the internet connection, use a downloaded annual tide table for selected favorite ports. I can get some of these for free and would love to see the data on the watch even if out of internet range for 2 weeks. Tides in reference ports can be very useful if you know the difference to the location you visit.
Both weather and tides widgets are notorious for their data sourcing practices, a deeper access to their data pipeline could resolve several issues.
