After converting some of my FIT to CSV, I've got these lines :

how should I interpret them ?

  • Haven't dabbled with the fitcsvtool for a while, but there's not much in there unfortunately. I think it mostly means that whatever the data is, it's not officially documented in the SDK. There are timestamps (983323980 - probably around 2021-02-27T01:33:00) and an array of values which fitcsvtool usually outputs delimited with pipe "|" for single fields (some sensor log perhaps?).

You'd have to go back to the original FIT-file to retrieve the numerical global id:s for the data. Even if they may not exist in the SDK documents, it's a start, since you'd at least get the manufacturers global id and field definition numbers (the timestamp is probably field def no 253 for example).

To be honest, I think fitcsvtool should be updated to export the numerical global id as well (the local id doesn't say anything outside of the fit file...), since if there's nothing documented those who rely on that tool get almost nothing. An option to export field definition numbers would probably helpful to some too.
