Vo2 max excellent

Today my Vo2max has gone up to 40.  I'm in my 40s mum of 4 and grandmother of 2 running my own business.

However Im embarrassed to say I usually do an average of only 2000 steps a day. I do not run, I dont ride a bike. I eat health and am in normal BMI. I'm awaiting surgery for  the last 2 years and limited on what I can do exercise wise. Although the last few days I've committed to get my 10000 steps in a day. So it is great to get rewarded today with an increase in vo2max!

My Vo2 max has been 39 for the last 6 months.

My husband and son both overweight have vo2max is poor. In the red.  Because I do very little exercise he believes the vo2max in inaccurate. And that it's because I'm not stressed my stress level average is 30 a month.

I do walk very fast, I walk faster than I can jog. Lol and it is rare for me to get intensity minutes when I go for a walk.

I have been using garmin watches for nearly 3 years and only got my 150 intensity mintues for the week only a few times over those years!

Where as my son and husband can do the same walk at a slower pace and get there intensity minutes every time they walk.

So my question is how accurate is the vo2max? Is it possible for somebody who does very little to have an excellent vo2max  like myself.

I feel fit and healthy. I have an alarm when I sit on PC to get up and stretch so I'm not sat for prolonged periods.

But I do feel guilty that I'm not training and ive a vo2max that is classed as excellent.

Could it he genetics?
