Connection notifications on vivomove 3s

I’ve gone through the app and turned off connection alerts but when I’m out of range it still constantly buzzes which is really annoying. I’ve tried to see if I can do anything through the watch itself but can’t find a way to do it! Does anyone know? 
Also I constantly have a red exclamation mark which says failed to sync. Any idea how to fix this. Tried turning blue tooth on/off. Turned phone off, even set it all up again and it’s still there? 
As much as I want to love this watch I’m seriously considering going back to Apple.
