Resolution of measurements is too coarse

Above a certain length, BaseCamp's Get Info window for tracks rounds distances over 500 feet to the nearest 0.1 miles.  But often for short tracks I need the measurement more precisely in feet.  0.1 miles is 528 feet which is far too coarse of a resolution for short distances.  I've overcome this a bit by switching from U.S. to metric, so it gives me meters (up to a certain length), but then it switches to 0.1 km which is still too coarse.  The ruler tool gives you distances to two decimal places, but I don't see how to get that for tracks.

If it would just display two decimal places for miles that would be accurate enough, but I'd rather have the ability to tell it I want measurements in feet no matter what the length.

Is there a way around this?
