I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. I have not heard of this type of message coming from Garmin. Any notifications that appear on the watch would originate from the phone. So for this, I have some additional questions.
Have you checked your phone apps to see which of these may be the source of the notification? For example even notification emails from the Garmin Forums.
Has this occurred again since?
