Verification Code when setting up Messenger

I am not receiving the 'verificaiton code' text message when setting up messenger.  I have asked for the code to be sent 4 times and it has not come through.  Can you hlep me with this?

  • I have submitted an issue to garmin but yet to get a response - This make having the inReach Mini useless to a large degree. 

    I may have to return the inReach as a result

  • Here is my finding on this problem with my phone that other may have

    i have both a physical SIM card (work) and a Virtual eSIM  (private) on my device 

    both with the same network provider 

    The verification sms notification work on the physical SIM number only 

  • Garmin - reached out to me and sorted out the problem from their side - Its was clearly an issue on their system and not the network carrier.

  • I've been fighting this for two days, chatted with Garmin support, chatted with my carrier support, nothing works. I can't get the phone to receive the text. Garmin says it must be the carrier. The carrier says, nope, not us. There must be an alternative to the texted code. 

  • Ok, so, after spending way too much time in chats with both Garmin & my cell carrier, I finally got it working. I saw reference to the number the verification should come from (31061) so I texted that number and I had a message pop up asking if I wanted to unblock that number! [How and when it got blocked, I have no idea]. I unblocked it, sent another text [help] and received a reply. I immediately tried the verification and it worked like a charm. For the record, I had checked my spam/blocked folder multiple times and there were no texts from that number in there. Anyway, if you're having this problem, give this a try before spending a lot of time going back and forth with Garmin support.
