The verification/authentication code request comes after putting in your phone number and information. Have you gotten that far? To be sure: you are talking about an Garmin messenger (because you have posted in the Mini 2 forum).
Hi Volker, Thanks for your prompt reply. I am setting up the InReach Mini 2. The app required to connect and receive messsages etc is called Garmin messenger.
To answer your question, yes, I've downloaded the app and entered my phone number. I have clicked the 'agree to Garmin's privacy policy' and then waiting for the verification code to come through to my phone. I've not received the code. I have tried around 10 times today.
Ah, ok- I am using the Explore app for my Mini 2. The Messenger App was introduced for the Garmin Messenger and after this also approved for the Mini 2.
Thanks. The interesting thing is, I managed to log on earlier today (with some difficulty) to Garmin Messenger. After reinstalling the app on my phone, it won't allow me to log in again or connect to the Mini 2.
Have you also removed the mini 2 from your phone bt setting?

I had this same issue - unable to receive the verification code to move forward with setting up the Garmin Messenger app. My husband had the same issue. He resolved it by texting 'Help' to 31061 which is the number the Garmin text should come from. He got an immediate reply and then was able to move forward with receiving the verification code from the app. This did not work for me, and I ended up having to contact AT&T support and have them fix it (maybe unblock that number on their end?). We both have AT&T wireless.
Note, before this, I had contacted Garmin support but they were not very helpful and I have now tracking of that interaction.
I am sorry to hear that. Have you submitted the information asked for in the link provided above? Most of these scenarios are in regards to the cell provider blocking the messages. When you submit the information it allows us to work with the providers to try and resolve the issue.
I am having the exact same issue as of yesterday after having downloaded the Garmin Messenger App
All my regular incoming SMS are working fine from purchase alerts to banking OTPs etc
But nothing from garmin
