The Garmin Messenger app won't verify my phone number on my Samsung A73 5G mobile.

It keeps displaying the message:

Something went wrong. Try again later

What needs to be done to resolve this issue?

    We are sorry you have run into an issue receiving the SMS verification code when setting up the Garmin Messenger app. To troubleshoot the issue, please try the following:

    • Confirm the cell phone has strong signal and is within the carrier's home network range - some carriers will not deliver the verification code while roaming.
    • Switch the phone from Wi-Fi to mobile data (or vice versa) and try verifying the app again.
    • Temporarily disable any VPN's while verifying.
    • Reboot the phone and try again.

  • I’m having the same problem. After getting a new phone and transferring my old phone number over I keep getting the error message when I enter the verification code sent by Garmin 

  •  I would recommend going in and deleting your garmin messenger account, then uninstall the app, restart your phone, then reinstall the app again and try again. 

    1. Select the profile icon or   in the top left.
    2. Select Account.
    3. Select Delete Garmin Messenger Account.
    4. Select Delete Account.

    Not sure it helps but I am a 67i owner and most outdoor and sport Garmin apps are installed.

  • Hello , are you still having this issue? Are you getting an error message when doing this or you just are not receiving the code?

  • Hello.  I was getting a code but it wasn't working.  Garmin tech support had to fix it, the problem was on their end.  It took a while, but they kept at it until it was fixed.  Good luck.

  • Same here - I chatted with a Garmin rep and they opened a ticket for me… This is a weekend and they are unable to help me until Monday Disappointed. It’s on their end, as I can configure the app with a different phone number with no issues…other than the messages go somewhere else.
