Tracking golf shoes?

Hi there,

Currently it's only possible to assign gear to a handful of activities - running, cycling, hiking, swimming, walking, other - could you please add the ability to track shoes for golf?

  • Currently it's only possible to assign gear to a handful of activities - running, cycling, hiking, swimming, walking, other

You can assign gear manually to practically any activity, Golf not excluding:

If you mean assigning gear to golf activities automatically, then I recommend suggesting it to Garmin at Share Ideas | Garmin, though I am afraid it may fall on deaf ears. Since many years, enhancing this functionality is one of the most requested features here on the forum (and likely on the Idea page too), but so far it looks like it is not on Garmin's todo list with any high priority. Adding your "idea" request may perhaps help increasing the chance.

  • If you are using a Garmin Golf compatible watch that saves the golf round as an activity (this is an option that can be switched on and off in golf settings on compatible watches) then you can add a pair of shoes setup in the Gear section of the Garmin Connect mobile app or on the Garmin Connect website.

When the round is ended and saved, Garmin Connect will display the golf round in the activity list where you can then add the shoes to the golf activity.

The shoes cannot be managed or added to scorecards in the Garmin Golf app.

Shoes added to the gear menu cannot automatically be set to be included in "Golf" activity types...but the shoes can be added manually in the gear section of a golf activity.

It is important to note that the shoes in gear are more oriented towards activities where the user is typically only recording location on foot vs golf activities (where yes, some people often walk and carry during a golf round) the majority of the time golf rounds being part walking and driving in a cart.

  • Thanks Cody! So there's no way to set it to add the shoes automatically, like with running or hiking currently?

  • Not at this time for golf activity types, so it can only be manually added after the activity is synced to Connect.
