Golf activity sent as two activates to Strava when round paused and resumed

Using a Fenix 7  - After playing the front side (Holes 1-9) there is option to pause round and resume later. When I pause the round, Garmin sends the the amount already played (holes 1 - 9) to Strava as an activity. When I resume and complete the round, Garmin sends Holes 10 - 18 as an activity.  This makes the round look like two activities on Strava. Garmin should send the entire round to Strava as "one" activity (holes 1 - 18) Garmin records for Garmin Golf correctly as 18 holes. There is no problem using the pause / resume later feature on my bike rides, only when using Golf feature. Only option is to no pause - Please fix!

  • Are you seeing two golf activities being recorded when you check in Garmin Connect app? Is there two scorecards showing in the Garmin Golf app?

  • One golf activity recorded on Garmin  (using my Fenix 7), but separated on Strava into two parts. To clarify, I am playing 18 holes of golf, after fishing the 9th hole, Garmin prompts to resume, end or pause the round. I usually just resume and there are no issues. However, if I press "pause" the round after playing the front 9 holes (to go inside clubhouse for lunch), Garmin send holes 1 - 9 as a completed activity to Strava. When I come back back out and resume the round (Press resume) on Garmin,  Garmin continues on and when completing the round (End Round) Garmin shows 18 holes competed and Garmin scorecard is correct for that round for 18 holes, but is sends Holes 10 - 18 as separate activity to Strava. I use the Bike option same way... if I take a break on my bicycle ride, I can "Pause the ride" and resume later...when resuming and completing the ride (End ride) this shows correctly on Garmin and Strava as one activity. For the Garmin Golf app, this must be a bug in Garmin. Summary, Garmin shows everything correctly on Garmin, but when you use "pause" is send s what you did as an activity to Strava and when resuming and completing/ending the rest of the round, sends that portion to Strava as an activity. Strava sees the 18 holes as two activities Activity for holes 1-9, activity for holes 10 - 18. Workaround for now is to just don't use Pause in the Garmin golf app.

  • If it is not saving two activities in Garmin Connect, then Strava is picking up the paused activity and saving it into two parts on their platform in the interim.

Due to activity not saving twice in Garmin Connect mobile, this would need to be reported over to Strava since they are taking the paused activity and recording it vs waiting for the full activity to save over on our end.

  • Just to confirm...So according to Garmin, this is is Strava's  problem...  With Garmin (My Fenix 7), the "Pause resume later" feature works fine on bike rides... Both Garmin and Strava reports the entire ride as one activity as they should be. But when using Garmin Golf "Pause resume later", (At end of 9 holes), Strava see the paused portion (holes 1 - 9) completed as one activity.and sent at end of the front 9 holes when paused. When resuming the balance of the round (holes 10- 18) on Garmin, at completion of round (all 18 holes completed)  Garmin saves the entire 18 holes as one activity on Garmin and sends holes 10 - 18 and a new activity to Strava. Shouldn't Garmin wait  to send the activity to Strava? Why does Strava see the front 9 holes right when "paused resume later?" (That is one of the prompts after 9 holes)

  • The continuity with having Strava paired to the account is resulting in that platform pulling the activity before it is fully saved on our end. Since the activity is not saving in two separate files on our end, yes...the concern would need to be reported through Strava with how it is pulling two activities over separately for Golf specifically.
