S12 won’t sync with the Garmin Golf app due to server errors

I am trying to sync my S12 to the app for an initial setup, but it keeps returning a server error. I have tried on both WiFi and mobile data but no luck. It either hangs when trying to sync and then crashes, or it immediately says it can’t connect to server.
