Cannot pair my S12 to my iphone.

I cannot pair my S12 to my iphone.  It has been a year since I used my watch.  And now it will not pair.   I get the message that 'we're having problems talking to the Garmin Connect server.'  My phone is on wifi and the website says all Garmin systems are up.   UGH!

    In your iPhone settings app open the Bluetooth section > Then tap the ( i ) icon next to the device name in the list > Forget the device from the next screen. 

    Then open the Garmin Golf app > Tap the More tab > Select Garmin Devices > Tap on your Approach S12 > Select "Add this device" > Then on the actual watch, open the main menu > Scroll down to the Phone option from the list > Then on the next menu tap the "Pair Phone" option > In the app you should see the option to connect it.
