Autoshot not working (Golf) - Fenix 7 Pro Solar

Hi,

Has anyone had the same issue over the last 6/8 weeks?

Watch worked fine and dandy prior to this time frame, then all of a sudden it just stopped working, all holes on my local course are showing fine with the yardages/hazards/green info but the autoshot feature has just stopped altogether.

Have tried a factory reset, updated any software available but to no avail.

Currently awaiting a reply from Garmin themselves as the watch is only 8 months old, thinking it might be an accelerometer problem if it's not registering the ball strike.

Cheers in advance.

  • Subsequently since the original issue occurring, the watch has now lost all of the pre-downloaded courses, all 42000 of them.

And still waiting for a reply from Garmin support.

  • Update the course maps through Garmin Express on a home computer. Based on your description, it seems that courseview maps were removed from the Map Manager on the watch.

If you open Map Manager on your fenix 7, it should show if the CourseView region you need for your location is enabled. If not, you are unable to enable them from the Map Manager on the watch...you would need to connect the fenix 7 to Garmin Express > Open Map Manager in the Express program, and re-enable the CourseView map region needed for you location > Then from there you can also check for updates to the map region and install the most current version of CourseView available.

  • Hi.

One all of that after talking to the support team, trialled it today and still no autoshot on the watch.

I'll give them a call again Monday, might be the accelerometer has given up the ghost.

  • If the watch is tracking steps fine, then the accelerometer sensor should be fine.

You should also check your user profile menu in the watch settings > Confirm the wrist worn on is set correctly to the wrist you are wearing the watch on.

In order for the AutoShot feature to work correctly, the watch should be worn on the lead wrist while golfing (left hand if using right-handed clubs...or right hand if using left-handed clubs) So that should be considered as well.

Please let me me know if I can be of further assistance and I would be happy to help out further if needed.

  • Hi Cody.

The watch is set up correctly (left wrist) did another hard reset yesterday as I kept getting the message "cannot upload maps" every time I undocked it from the laptop.

I did delete Topoactive and reinstalled it.

However, today when I plugged it in and unplugged it the error message didn't show so I'm hoping it will work, playing tomorrow so will try again.

Cheers for the help so far.

  • Still goosed, will be calling Garmin again today.
