Green location (Apporoach S42)

How does the S42 know the ball location on the green to define the yardage of the attack green shot since the putt is not deteceted. Some greens are about 30 meters length which has a big impact on the yardage.

Moreover, as it is not possible on the Garmin Golf App to add shots on the green or to locate the ball at the end of a shot, the yardage figures are not usefull.

Either there is a way to define the ball location on the green I do not know or Garmin to add the feature in the S42 in the same manner there is the feature 'save location'
