Handicap in Garmin Golf App

Hello, I‘m using the Golf App with my Approach S40. I entered my Handicap „54“ as local Handicap in the watch. Regardless how good (or bad) I play the App keeps showing a handicap of 36.4 in the performance stats.

What am I doing wrong?

As far as I know, 36.4 is max index allowed on the handicap system. It gives you 2 strokes per hole on a standard course.
