Ability to disable hole auto-advance?

Noticed that the hole auto-advance “feature” is messing with my c10 sensors. If the hole auto-advances while I’m near the green, wedge shots are assigned to the next hole. Any way to change the auto-advance cadence and/or disable altogether?

Alternatively, and would be awesome because its supposed to work, but any way to fix the auto-shot feature on the Fenix 5 plus so that it actually works? It hasn’t worked since I bought the watch last July, which forced me to buy c10 sensors to get yardage data, and now those aren't exactly working either....

  • It would be abnormal behavior for any of our devices to do what you are experiencing. Your Fenix 5 Plus is an issue with your device itself. It should not be auto-advancing to your next hole while still on close to the green for the hole you are currently playing. You should not see the advancement to the next hole until within a reasonable distance to the next hole's tees.

Given that your auto-shot is not working correctly, suggests there is a sensor hardware issue. Most likely since your watch was new since you have had the issue since when you bought your watch last July.

Factory reset your watch then test it golfing again. If the issue continues, please reach out to Outdoor Product Support. We will be happy to help you further.

    • Ok, so separate out the two issues for the time being. Is there a way to disable/change how quickly auto advance shows up on the screen watch? I.e- i drive up to a ball thats about 50 yards out, get ready to hit my approach and want to see yardage on my watch, but instead my watch asks for the score on that hole. When is that actually supposed to show up? And can it be disabled or delayed?
  • No. When things are working correctly, you will never deal with what you are experiencing. It is not a setting that can be changed to manipulate the behavior.

Your hole score request shouldn't come up until you are transitioning off the green and moving towards the next hole.

  • Ok, so is there a way to fix it?

  • I am sorry, there is not. Please reach out to Outdoor Product Support. We will be happy to assist you further.
