golf app does not work on venu. Both score and club prompt don't work properly. ANYONE actually had the golf app work.

I have had 4 Venus where everything worked pretty goo but not the golf app.  Unfortunately, that's why I went from the VIvoactive 3 to the Venu. Returned all of them and got the new Golf S62.  Works perfectly for golf but is really too big for everyday.  Also, the HRM isn't accurate.  Would love to know if they fixed the golf software bug.  Should be simple as they already have the platform and should be able to just transfer it into the Venu OS.

  • Still is not fixed. Does not work as well as my VA3 did., disappointing.

  • I can’t always get my VA to upload a new course, it reverts back to the course I usually go to whether I go to skip gps or use it.  Sooo frustrating, I had it working as I arrived checked in and paid and it was lost when I hit the first hole. Tried several times to download but no luck. Any advice?

Not sure which OS, so moved to Garmin Golf iOS forum.  ?

  • The watch only has capacity to show up to five courses at a time, despite how many courses you have downloaded to Garmin connect.

You likely need to go into Garmin Connect and remove all the courses except for the courses you plan on golfing at.

  • I have just got a Venu Sq, and I’ve used it once on the course so far. Auto shot tracked most of my shots pretty well, but I never saw a prompt for selecting the club. I also never saw a screen for entering penalties after each hole.

im finding the Grint’s app is much better for seeing how you’ve done after a round, but it’s a pain to have to pull your phone out before every shot. Which is one reason I got the Venu, but if I can’t select the club it’s usefulness is pretty limited.

  • Hello, please make sure Stat Tracking and Club prompt are enabled:

    Club Prompt:

Hold bottom right button > Select Gear icon > Select Activities & Apps > Select Golf > Select Golf Settings > Toggle Club Prompt green

    Stat Tracking:

Hold bottom right button > Select Gear icon > Select Activities & Apps > Select Golf > Select Golf Settings > Scoring > Toggle Stat Tracking to ON.

  • The latest is this:  All the functions on my Venu were working perfectly up to a few weeks ago.  But now, everything works except it won't let me enter a center direction after scoring, putting in the number of putts and then the drive direction only allows left or right.  Not a big deal these days because I use my S62 most of the time for golf.  Still weird!  Great watch other than that quirk.

  • Hi Rob, thanks for your reply. As far as I know, both Club Prompt and Stat Tracking were turned on when I started the round.

I did see the Fairway accuracy screen when entering my score and putts at the end of a hole. I could also set the club on the Golf app on my phone after the round, but I'd forgotten which clubs I'd used in a lot of cases.

I just didn't see a screen for penalties or for setting the club I just used. The club prompt screen isn't in the documentation, so I have no idea what it looks like.
