Golf Shot Map Not Working after Epix Update 23.18

Garmin Golf Shot Map not working or showing in the app after the Epix Gen 2 update 23.18

Has anyone else experienced this after the update? I can see the shot maps of the rounds played before the update, but no option to see shot maps for rounds played after the update.

  • Yep, I’m facing the same issue..

  • Install updates to courseview maps by using WiFi through the map manager feature or by connecting your watch to Garmin Express and installing the updates via a wired connection.

Your CourseView maps for the region you are located in should reflect version 25.20 for the golf course mapping.

  • Thanks Cody, I went through Garmin Golf App support and did this but haven't been able to play a round again to check. What I realized was that the watch would power off and back on again when tryin to save the activity. Let's hope the update worked Fingers crossed

  • Same issue. When entering score for the 18th hole, my Epix seems to be rebooting. Need to start another golf round to get the message that a round is already in progress to be able to end that round and then save it. No shot maps. Went into Map Manager and checked for updates. Didn’t seem to find any updates. My Golf North America map version is 6.60. Please advise

  • You are describing exactly what happes to me

  • Tried updating the maps via the watch but unsuccessful. My EPIX downloaded the map (Golf North America) just fine, but map stayed in the “queued” status.  Was able to update the maps via Garmin Express and can see that the map version is 25.20. Strangely enough the map manager in the watch still says that there’s an update available…. Hopefully this map update will resolve the issues of 1) not saving the round and 2) saving the shot data.

  • Getting the maps to update was a hassle, as some have mentioned. Express on Windows installed them, but the watch still indicated that updates were queued. I tried WiFi, but it was stuck at 95% after five hours. Ultimately, I tried a fresh installation of Express on a Mac, which successfully pushed map updates to the watch. Still unclear why this worked over windows express and wifi.

Bottom line, however, the map updates resolved the issue of shot maps for me. The watch also didn’t restart after the round. Shot maps still take a while to appear on the golf app (e.g., I played yesterday and checked the app after the round only to see a scorecard without shot maps, but this morning the shot maps option is visible). I’m assuming that’s a sync issue where Connect hadn’t yet synced all the watch shot data when I checked after the round, but I’ll keep an eye on the lag in the future.

Thanks, Cody, for your help, and vlam for creating this post!

  • Same issue for the last 3 weeks.  First two times everything saved normally.  I updated my watch via express before tonight's round and tonight my watch restarted as soon as I tried to save the round, and still didn't save the shot map.  Watch is an epic gen 2 sapphire.

  • Same for me with my epic gen 2 sapphire

    Map update done (25.20)

    After this :

Worked one time and now reboot and losing shot map when finishing a round like before
