Golf Shot Map Not Working after Epix Update 23.18

Garmin Golf Shot Map not working or showing in the app after the Epix Gen 2 update 23.18

Has anyone else experienced this after the update? I can see the shot maps of the rounds played before the update, but no option to see shot maps for rounds played after the update.

  • Good luck tomorrow, hope it works for you. I hate not having shot maps after a round. When they are missing, I am now questioning how accurate my yardages are when I look at club stats.

  • Agree... all my stats look wonky and I feel like an addict waiting for her next "shot map hit'Rofl

  • OP here. I played last weekend and the same #*×%$! problem l. Rebooting when trying to save the round m, have to start a round to actually end the round. No shot map data as a result. Epix Gen 2

If someone from Garmin can actually just respond or give us a progress update that would be great, but here we are hoping after every round it might save and then being more pissed off than a 3 putt when the watch reboots.

  • Well...no joy on today's round of golf.  I played my home course and despite deleting the golf app on my phone, reloading it, re-downloading my home course and soft-rebooting my watch, I again experienced the same problem as before....reboot when I save the round, re-saving the round on my phone no shot records.

Quite the let-down after seeing shot records for the round prior to todays' [again that was at a course I had never played].  This really needs to be fixed or garmin needs to give us a roll-back option to a prior release.

  • Providing this for all your general information:

I sent a request today [via chat] for instructions on how to roll back to a release prior to 23.18.  All the features I use were working great prior to this release so I don't think I'll miss any bug fixes in that release.  Gary indicated he would pass this on to the team to see if that is an option. I believe you are all aware that, as of this point, the only work around is to turn off activity FIT file recording to "prevent the watch from creating a general fitness activity file for your golf rounds, which may be helpful if you only want the score on the Garmin Golf app and no other tracking data".  Since it is all the other data that i was using and want back, this isn't a work around in my view...I am still getting the score on the scorecard despite the 23.18 bug.

  • I played one round on Sunday at a new course with only my watch (no phone connection since my phone was dead). The watch is updated to 23.18 with updated maps. I did not get shot maps after the round, only score. I played another round on Tuesday at a different new course but prior to starting the round, I downloaded the course on the Garmin Golf app. I started the golf activity on my watch and then when I tried getting wind data, but the watch said it couldn’t connect to my phone. I opened the Garmin Golf app on my phone and it asked me to resume the round that was started on my watch so I did. After finishing the round, the watch didn’t restart, the round saved successfully and I got shot maps after. I’m not sure if there’s a connection there but maybe try downloading the course and ensure the round is also started on your phone before playing the round.

  • Yes.. I had done both those steps of downloading the course and starting it on my phone....no joy.  I really wish Garmin would provide a roll back option so that every round isn't a 'blind troubleshoot' of steps to take prior to a round with a prayer when I hit 'save round' that there isn't a reboot

  • Still very frustrated by this issue, but at least as a temporary workaround, I disabled the activity tracking on my Epix 2 watch. It allowed me to have shot maps come through after the round. Only difference is I don’t get the gps map in Garmin connect after, which I don’t care about much.

  • But you don’t get any of the fitness data right? Literally bought this watch because it has both… could just move to arccos I guess

  • That was my understanding also...and I find that extremely irritating as well.  Agree, I have always enjoyed using the entire Garmin Ecosystem so I have all my data in one location and am not wearing multiple watches, handhelds, etc, etc for running, biking hiking, golf, etc.  In other words, getting all the features that are advertised for a multi-sport watch. Acquiescing to their work around feels like it takes the pressure off of Garmin to fix the problem and reeks of 'hey just buy the Fenix 8 Pro for $1K and all your problems are solved'.  Sorry, vent and conspiracy theory rant over....
