Approach S12 sync forever and my golf round score are missing

It was my first round with Approach S12 and full set of CT10, lots of expectation. Golf round ended, scorecard saved in watch, then I do a sync when I am back home. The sync took forever, and my scorecard was not shown in Android Garmin Golf App.

USB connect to watch and I see the .fit file (file size 4.2K) in "scorecards" folder, but Garmin Connect website upload does not accept it.

Thing is, one week later, I use the same equipment and played another round of golf. Have been trying to sync the scorecard for the most part of the day, and just when I am about to give up. The scorecard along with all tracking information shows up after 15 hours in my phone. But the round I played a week before is still nowhere to be found. Feeling the app is unreliable.

Any help here?

  • Same here, all scorecards missing

  • Since my last post I notice if I saved the scorecard on my Approach S12, and then connect it to my MacBook Air using the provided USB charging cable, the scorecard is successfully upload to my Garmin account, and hence can be viewed on my Android Garmin Golf App. Hope this helps.

But still, there is definitely something wrong with S12 syncing with Android Golf App. Garmin need to fix this.

ps: side note, I wrote couple emails to Garmin a week ago regarding this, there is no reply. It looks like their customer support is non-existent.

  • Thanks for your reply, though it's far from ideal I'll try it!!

My phone synced two days ago and all my old scorecards reappeared but those from yesterday and today are missing ;/

    Thanks again!!!

  • I am encountering this too. Garmin need to acknowledge and fix this. Fortunately the rounds aren't lost. They're saved on the watch. I typically have to reinstall the app or sync the watch via connect and my pc. To get the rounds to sync again. I've factory reset to watch too, it still happens.

  • Garmin has finally replied my email, and they suggest I delete all the scorecard in the watch, make sure both watch and Android app are up-to-date. I followed all the step but still no luck. Then they suggest I uninstall Garmin Golf app on my phone completely and download it again from App Store. This time it works! Now it only takes a few seconds to sync the scorecard to my app, and all tracking information are successfully uploaded to Garmin Connect. Hope this helps you guys.

  • Thank you for posting a follow up.  I have done all these steps, factory reset the watch, uninstalled the app.  It did fix things and it synced correctly for maybe 2 rounds then the same thing started happening again.

I wish you better luck than I seem to have had with this!

There's clearly some issue Garmin need to resolve as these aren't sustainable solutions.
