Vivoactive 4 course download problem

I've just bought a Vivoactive 4 and am having trouble downloading golf courses onto my garmin connect app on my android phone (Oppo brand). When I select a local course to download I just get the spinning circle showing download process in action but nothing actually loads...despite this happening for over an hour. I am able to load courses onto the garmin golf app on my phone (I get a tick next to the course name), however this then shows on the garmin golf app as an "Offline Course". After pairing and synching phone with device, I try to start the golf option on the device and the device says it is "transferring courses" however no courses appear on the list to select. I've tried deleting the caches on garmin connect app, garmin golf app, google play store and my internet browser Chrome....all to no avail.  This is the second Vivoactive 4 that I have tried to get to work with the golf option. The first device was returned to seller after Garmin Australia failed to find a solution to the issue over the phone. Has anyone experienced a similar issue and found a solution?

  • Further to this issue, I've just found that I am able to get full functionality from the device's golf function if I use my Samsung tablet to pair with the device via garmin connect instead of the Oppo phone. However, doing so loses my connection between my Oppo phone and the Vivoactive 4. Is it possible to have the Vivoactive 4 connected to an Android phone and an android tablet at the same time?
