Truswing turns off unexpectedly

My Truswing started to turn off erratically after being moved (e.g. being picked up, rotated, put down on a table). Battery is fully charged, leds and connection to app work normally as well as connection to computer.

Any ideas about how to solve it?

I am wondering about a software/firmware issue. Can it be factory reset?

Thanks

Gabriel

  • Hi Gabriel, did you have any luck with this? My Truswing will no longer turn on. Turned itself off the other day. Fully charged. Connects to Garmin Express ok. but if it isn't connected via a power source it won't turn on.

  • Hi, unfortunately not. I sometimes have a hard time trying to turn it on as well.

  • I would recommend checking the LED indicator to see what mode, or status the device is in when the concern occurs.

To restart the TruSwing sensor press and hold the power key for about 15 seconds or until the LED shuts off. After that the unit can be turned back on and used again. If the TruSwing sensor LED is blue but solid instead of flashing the unit will need to be restarted.

Below is a link to the Truswing support article covering the definitions of the LED indicator to view the status of the device:

Meaning of LED lights on the TruSwing

To ensure there are no issues with the charging source being used, it's also recommended next time when charging to give a full charge through an alternate power source other than the one typically being used. A computer USB would be a good option for charging through another source, to ensure a reliable full charge of the device.

  • Thanks Cody, that is very useful. I have followed those instructions. Unfortunately the device does not power on at all / have any LEDS on at all, unless connected to a power source. Do you know if there some sort of internal battery that can be replaced?

  • Unfortunately the battery is a lithium ion soldered into a water resistant case design...resulting in the design of the device not allowing the battery to be user replaceable through conventional means.

If the lithium ion rechargeable battery is at that point from use and age where it can no longer adequately carry a charge, I would suggest reaching out to the Garmin Support office in your region to see if there are any repair options available for the device.

Repair options will vary depending on location due to how long ago the TruSwing was released, as some options may not be available for that specific product.

    I hope this helps

  • Thanks really appreciate your getting back to me. I live on the south coast UK so I'll find out who's local and might be able to help. Again thanks for your help.
