Golf app with Galaxy tab S5e.

When i try to open the app from garmin connect it asks to update but theres no update available?? So I can't use golf app on my tab

  • This is still a problem, and the ONLY current way to install Garmin Golf on Android tablets is to download if from a site offering Android apps outside of Google Play.

As You may have noticed Garmin is not supporting Garmin Golf on tablets, and You install the app at own risk.

For the same reason I can no longer paste a link, but if You do a google search for Garmin Golf App APK, You should find the app easily.

I'm currently using version 2.10.1 as the 2.11.1 did not work.

I will try 2.11.2 at some stage unless others try it and find it not to work.

2.10.1 has some bugs, but they are also om my phone and not related to running the app on a tablet.

  • perfect. seems to work well enough. i'll try the newer versions to see if they worked out any of the bugs.

  • There are still bugh with the graphics in HTH.

I will not do anything on my tablet before at least my phone is working as it should.

  • Hi, so it looks like developers have been looking at golf app for galaxy tabs for a few years now, is this even close yet. Would be very usefull to know if it was being looked at or just to give up looking for a solution that is never coming.

  • Not sure what Garmin will do about this.

Currently it's only supported on phones, and they even remove links to the app itself that will work on tablets.

In my opinion they should develop an app for tablets, both on ios and android that could benefit the larger screens.

Or at least have a "toggle" button in the app that could have a different gui more focused towards projectors/monitors.

It's "a shame" when You compare the gui on Garmin Golf app on the range, compared with what for example Awesome Golf displays for each shot:

In the Garmin Golf app it's the pointless switching between pages for the data, instead of having it all available on one page.

    Will Garmin listen? No idea.

  • Hey Folks -

The beformentioned APK-solution works pretty well for me, the data I receive is OK, but I also think Garmin should estimate the the feedbacks out of the discussion and provide at least some info.

Because of this neglect of ANY reaction I decided to order the new https://rapsodo.com/products/mlm2pro

which should work with the same space requirement as the R10.

    Happy golfing!

    Thomas

  • Yes, the mlm2 will be a serious competitor to the R10.

That being said, I'm not totally convinced that the gui of the Rapsodo will be that much better than the Garmin Golf app.

Based on the screenshots I've seen it still appears to be only a few metrics presented for each shot on the main screen, ans still the need to enter different pages for more metrics. Probably the ease of changing screens will be better though, as it is impossible to make it worse.

Not sure if there will be an export function either, which at least Garmin now has made possible.

So I will wait and see on the reviews, but the cameras are tempting as those will for sure be beneficial.

  • the Garmin golf app not work on a Galaxy tablet needs to be feature upgrade #1a along with reading club speed without needing to hit a ball.  Please get these 2 features asap!

  • I tried the recently update (2.12) on my tablet yesterday, and it worked way better than the other latest releases.

Range worked fine with my R10, no issues whatsoever.

Switched to HTH, and worked fine with no issues whatsoever.

Switched back to Range, and issue occured with unit going to standby after each shot. An old problem they never fixed properly.

    Restarted app and OK again.

So all in all I can use the app on my tablet again.

Haven't tried the recent update (2.12.1), but apparently this only solves a bug with calibration introduced in 2.12.
