club loft

Is there any way to set the club loft to match my clubs?   For instance, if you choose 7 Iron the loft is set at 34 degrees.... my 7 iron is actually 31 degrees.

  • I'm having the same problem. Seems there is no way to edit the club loft to match my clubs. Be nice if Garmin would address this issue.

  • It seems like anyone who has gotten new clubs in the last few years has the same issue.  If shaft length and flex are editable, then certainly loft should be as well. My friend just got a set of Calloway Rogue X 2020 and his 7 iron is 27 degrees.   That would make it a 5 iron according to Garmin.

  • I have the same problem. I configured my Callaway 7i 27.5º now as 5i. with the standard length of my 7i. Also my clubs have +2º upright lie, which also can't be configured.

What impact does the configuration of clubs have for the measurement? Is that purely informational for my bag or will an inaccurate configuration to wrong measurements?

  • I'm just getting into this now...   with the addition of my R10 to my devices I would like to be able to create a demo club or set of them and record the different shaft types and lie angles to compare at the rage.   e.g.  I'm interested in a new wedge or hybrid...  I'd like to setup that club and using it at the range switching between my old club and new.  I know not a main feature that everyone would use, but when you have a simulator, it makes sense.

  • Not 100% sure, but assumes the radar and algos don't care at all what You call Your clubs, or which club You choose.

The radar measures club head speed, ball speed and some ball flight parameters.

So in theory You can choose a driver in the club selection, actually hit with a lob wedge, and the radar should show the actual parameters for the lob wedge shot.

Which means You can compare clubs without any new features.

  • Your absolutely right, and I do that now, it's your only choice, but you have to look thru the numbers right when you hit the shot.  You don't get to review your session and see the list of shots with each club.  The new club or demo club data will be mixed in with whatever your club was set to when you made the shot.

Just a thought, as simulators are used for fittings.

  • Data export in order to review Your shots later, and in a better way than existing, is a missing feature for sure.

Another thread on this and reply from Garmin the last year is that this feature is being evaluated.

Lucky guys that are employed at Garmin..
