Device not found in Golf App but connected via Garmin Connect app

The latest update to the Garmin Golf App (1.18) for android doesn't find or connect to my Forerunner 935.
The watch is paired and connected to the Garmin Connect app and is syncing fine.
Looking at the reviews in the Play store, this happening to Vivoactive and fenix watches too. Does anybody have a solution on how to get the Golf App to connect to the watch/device?
