Thanks. I seem to get a bit lost in the library with tracks, routes and courses and which does what and which type goes onto the map to show the route, either on mapshare or on the device itself and which get used on a "route" to follow on the device! Have to say the cycling ones are so much simpler.

A little history....routes come from automotive GPS world, courses come from fitness watch GPS world, and tracks come from exploration GPS world. In the last few years, Garmin has been placing all of these features on a single device, which is good to have if you need them, but confusing if you don't.
More confusing is that historically, when a person planned a trip, that was called a route and the recorded data from the trip was called a track. However, automotive GPS's also use the term route. The route icon on the Explore web refers to the older route terminology.
First you have to have your planned trip (route, course or track) in your library and assigned to a collection (if desired). It should show up on your map page.
Then, go to Social tab on Explore web, ensure Mapshare "switch" is turned on. You should see a link that you setup when you were first setting up the website. Click the link and you should see your Map, which is what your intended audience will see.
Hi. Thanks for the explanation. I have my trip in a collection as both routes and tracks as I wasn’t sure which one would work. I can see the trip on my map in the app. When I select the mapshare link and open it to check what can be seen the trip does not show on the map?. This is what’s confusing.
