Garmin Connect Explore web page - default starting location (2024)?

12 years ago the OP asked the question below.  Is setting the starting location possible now?

Anyone know how this web page selects a starting location?
I live in Canberra and that page always loads with Sydney, which is over 350km away... not useful
How can I force it to start with Canberra as a default?

    https://explore.garmin.com/ > Maps tab > shows a picture of a location that I made a map at once in the past

    That picture is the same every time and is not the home location that I want it to be.  So I would like to change the picture to the location of my home.

    If it helps I'm happy to attach the picture but can't figure out how to do that.

    The map will show the last location you synched with the website, or the location of the last file upload onto the map. You would need to upload a track recorded from your home location to get the map page to show it.

    I do think it would be helpful to show a picture of what you are referring to. If you are referring to a waypoint and the icon you selected for that icon you can customize that. However, if its for a track or route you created you cannot change the icons just the color. If you are referring to the blue triangle with your name you cannot change that icon either but as Like2Hike mentioned that icon shows the last location your device connected to satellite while tracking or the last location of the last file you uploaded to the account.

    That solved my problem, thank you both! 

    "...map will show the last location you synched with the website..." was the key.  Using Garmin's terminology of "Importing Waypoints, Routes, and Tracks Into the Garmin Explore Website" gave the necessary steps.
