The button to convert routes to tracks is missing, and I can't see routes on the map. Any ideas?

I've drawn a route on the map, then tried to convert to a track so I can use it on my watch, but the option to convert has disappeared, and the route isn't even visible on the map (the eyeball isn't crossed out).

  • I've drawn a route on the map and I see it. You may have forgotten to double click the last point, followed by clicking the green check mark after drawing the route, which saves it.

Others have noted problems with the Map page.  Tracks can't be deleted, Collections can't be deleted, etc. I see that Tracks cannot be converted to Routes though they should be able to (which is discussed in the online Garmin Explore Web Help Owner's Manual).

The Manual doesn't discuss converting Routes to Tracks, but I seem to recall that that was once available.

You may want to download the Explore app on your cellphone, and plan a Course (to mirror your intended Route). Then convert the Course to a Track and synch to website.

  • I'm having the exact same problem and have spent hours trying to figure this out. Any ideas are welcome.

  • If you go to the Explore website and look at the status, it says "Partially Degraded Service".  Garmin is aware of the issues and working to fix them. There's nothing for users to do.

  • They weren't at the point of posting. Facebook chat guys didn't even know there was a problem, but it does seem they are working on it now Slight smile  I used your 'Course' advice on the app, which I'd not tried before. It's never been the most reliable website.

  • I realize that the status was just recently updated and was not when you originally posted.

I was responding to 9577605's comment, which was posted just today.

  • Thanks, I just switched from a Spot to an Inreach so I'm new to this.

  • Ok, just a bit of poor timing. Hopefully, it will be fixed shortly and the fix won't have other unintended consequences.

In case you weren't aware, there is a "Garmin Explore Web Help Owner's Manual" on the web, just search for it.
