Garmin Explore Web upload track with waypoints to Fenix 7 all fine but elevation plot empty

Hello to all,

In Garmin Explore Web I uploaded track and added some way-points. Next step was uploading all to Fenix 7 via phone with the Garmin Explore App. All working fine. But when I load the course in the hike activity and view the elevation plot it's empty.

This is not happening if I load the track in Garmin Connect and then upload the track to the Fenix 7.

Anyone have an idea if I have something wrong in my workflow or is this a bug?

PS I think it is a bit strange that you need three apps with different functions when you want them centrally.  I mean: Garmin Explore Web, Garmin Explore App and Garmin Connect. Here Garmin can really make an improvement within their ecosystem.

  • I'm having the same issue.

  • I am having the same problem.

I have imported GPX files into Explore Web. The same GPX files show elevation information in Basecamp so the issue is not with the GPX files.

When I sync Explore Web with my Enduro and load the GPX as course, the elevation plot is empty.

If I import the same GPX into Garmin Connect Web as Course and then send it to the Enduro, the elevation plot shows correctly.

It would seem Explore Web loses the elevation information or doesn't transfer it to the devices.

  • I did a test and downloaded the same GPX on my phone, opened it with Explore Android, and then synced with my Enduro.

When I load the coarse and elevation plot, the elevation plot displays correctly so the issue of losing elevation data seems to repro only with Explore Web.
