Here's an Idea....

So here is an idea.. Whyis there not a way to link in to explore web and basecamp???  Syncing routes,POI's and waypoints across the Basecamp pc application and the Explore web/App would be so much better..

It would be damn useful and means that you can plan when offline on a PC and then sync when you wish. It would also allow for a much easier route planning as the explore web and app is terrible and friggin slow at times.. Where as basecamp is much faster once open.

So there is my idea.. And am pretty sure many would agree it is a fairly good one.......

  • I would also like to see this sort of capability - either a Basecamp upload or a more powerful web only Explore.  I use Garmin Connect quite a bit and it is able to handle all of my activities.  I'm sure my fitness activities in Connect are larger because they have a ton of data associated with them (heart rate, temp, etc etc).  I noticed in this support article: Benefits of Using the Garmin Explore Website Compared to BaseCamp with Compatible Handhelds | Garmin Customer Support that they are working to improve Explore but it would be great to have an idea of when this will be rolled out.  I would love to use a more powerful web hosting/interface with my 66i with the power of Connect but more suited to non "activities"  pursuits involving waypoints, tracks, photos (a bonus), etc.
