Blue triangle (current position) doesn’t show while GE is synchronizing with device

  • We have not been able to reproduce this issue.

    • What device are you syncing with?
    • Is Prefer Device Location toggled off or on in Map Settings?
    • Does unpairing and re-pairing the device resolve the issue?
    • Does uninstalling the Garmin Explore app, restarting your phone, and reinstalling the Garmin Explore app resolve the issue?

      • On (Does it matter? I was not performing any activity.
    • Does unpairing and re-pairing the device resolve the issue?
      • N/A
      • after sync ends Blue is back
    • Does uninstalling the Garmin Explore app, restarting your phone, and reinstalling the Garmin Explore app resolve the issue?

    Let me explain the scenario better.

    I did a 30Km bike ride 70Km far from home.

    Next day I opened Explore to give a look on the actual ride and points I added.

    Turns out that while GE was sync (activities, waypoints etc)  the blue triangule didn't showed. Nor the map/compass turned despite the fact that map was showing my neiborhood.

    PS: i wish we could configure GE to not sync activities unless demanded.-) 

  • We cannot reproduce this behavior. Please uninstall the Garmin Explore app, restart your phone, and reinstall the Garmin Explore app. If you continue to experience this behavior after reinstalling the app, please contact Product Support for further investigation of the issue.

  • Hi Chris,

    uninstalled the Garmin Explore app, restarted my phone, and reinstalled the Garmin Explore app and did a test by altering some saved itens from GE.

    While synching I went to Maps and there was no Blue Triangule.

    See picture bellow.

    After synch was finished Blue Triangule was back.
