Explore lack of bridleways?

  1. Hi, I used the app Explore loads as it gave me the bridleways and footpaths clearly. But now it just shows lines that to me are no correct. if I pay the subscription does this change?
  • Without subscription you get the topo maps. The content is that from open street map. If something us wrong, you can sign up to osm and correct it. With a map update you would see your amendment.m after a while, depending from Garmin. Before 4.0 i never got an update for the maps. Maybe it will be better now.

With a subscription you can get topo plus maps for most European countries. In America you get some other maps. The maps in Europe come from official sources. The content is like that from printed maps. Single tails are not shown if they are not waymarked hiking trails or otherwise in officials maps.

I prefer the topo plus maps here in Europe. They look nicer and are not overloaded with points of (no) interest, like bike rack. There are so many icons in the topo map that you don’t see poi’s because of too many poi’s.

  • I just want to see the dotted bridalways so I can plan route as I walk. It just seems to be lines at the moment. OSM does that link with Garmin?

  • Note that Outdoor Maps+ does not provide Topo Pro maps for all European countries, most notably Great Britain and Netherlands. If I'm not mistaken bridleways are a mostly UK thing related to right of way.

  • I vainly searched for a bridalway. You may post coordinates. Then i could check how it looks like in my GE with subscription.

  • Can you clarify what you mean by "just shows lines that to me are no correct"? Are you streaming or have you downloaded the TopoActive map for your region? Perhaps a screenshot might provide some clarity.
