No, you can send a waypoint saved in Explore directly as a GPX file (function "share"). For example as an email. The recipient can import the GPX into Explore. This is very simple.
If necessary, you can even send all waypoints together. Or a complete collection. Or courses. This way I regularly back up my collections to the cloud.
